Presentation of the amendment
On 20 December 1973, the General Assembly adopted, by a vote of 105 to 2, with 15 abstentions, a further amendment to Article 61 (bringing the number of members of the Economic and Social Council to 54); this amendment entered into force on 24 September 1973.
